Suicide Assessment and Prevention: Clinical Insight from a Global Expert | In Person

  • 130 East 15th Street Edmond, OK, 73013 United States (map)

I am delighted to invite you to join me, in collaboration with Journey Counselling Center, for an engaging and informative continuing education session on Suicide Assessment and Prevention. Drawing on my experience as a suicidologist, international author, and counsellor, this workshop is designed to provide clinicians with practical, evidence-based strategies for identifying and supporting individuals at risk.

I have spent my career working in suicide prevention, supporting individuals in crisis and training clinicians across both therapeutic and crisis settings. As the former Director and Lead Trainer for Australia’s Lifeline, I prepared hundreds of mental health professionals to assess risk, respond to crisis calls, and intervene effectively during moments of acute vulnerability.

This training is for clinicians who want to move beyond checkbox assessments and liability-driven conversations. I will share a clinically grounded framework for identifying suicide risk, asking direct and meaningful questions, and responding in ways that are both evidence-based and relationally sound. You can expect real clinical examples, applied guidance, and insights shaped by decades of specialised work in suicide prevention.
